Damn Horseflies!

Red-Backed Salamander (Plethodon cinereus)

So, the morning was boring! But, in the afternoon we went out and searched for amphibians in the plots. We found several red-backed salamanders, Red Efts, and a spring peeper (little frog). In order to find these, we had to turn over all of the leaf-litter and search under logs and rocks. This was fine, but the horseflies drove me insane! They would not leave my head alone. I'm tempted to start using unscented shampoo!

Tonight is clean-up night...that means we all get a job. I hope I don't end up with bathrooms, although eventually I will. Off to take a nap.
