There's a Biological Preserve in NY?!?!

Jet-lagged and tired, I have finished my first day at Huyck Biological Preserve in Rensselaerville, NY. The area is gorgeous green countryside, surrounded by farms and cute little towns. I spent the day getting acclimated: unpacking, getting a tour, walking along some of the creeks, and staring off into the distance in front of the beaver-dammed Lincoln Pond. It was a pretty uneventful day, but tomorrow I'm waking up at 6:30am to catch small mammals and tag them!
